a My name is Ruth Annette and I am the sole Artist behind Precious~Dreams, I am a proud Mum of 5 beautiful children and the owner of a wonderful Military husband called Billy ;O)

I have been a very artistic person for as long as I can remember, it all started with drawing my lovely pictures on my parents walls!

Not a good move, but we all have to start somewhere.

During my education I took both Art and Ceramics and went on to achieve an A distinction at A Level standard. After leaving school I trained as a Florist and enjoyed running my own business.

Once my family came along I found I wanted to be a stay at home Mum, so I gave up going out to work and progressed with something I still enjoy very much, hand painting pastilage for novelty birthday cakes and making Exhibition Wedding cakes, combining all my floristry skills, sculpting skills and general Artistic notions into creating my breath taking cakes.

I also used to paint novelty Birthday and general celebration cakes to order, my creations were all hand drawn and hand painted using a variety of different edible mediums.

a In 2003 I discovered the Art of Reborn babies, I was amazed from the first sight,

I embarked straight away in finding out more, I came across an online course called Simply Reborn, again I was totally enthralled by what I saw before me, the dolls the 3 Ladies created were to be my ambition and Inspiration.  I signed up immediately and started the course; once I had created my first baby I was completely hooked!!

My Love and passion for Reborns just grew at such a rate, I had no problem in discovering new techniques and pushing the Artistic Envelope to it's extremes. In November 2004 I was invited to Teach with Simply Reborn, which at the time was ran by Angel Mitchell with the Support of Kimberly from Heaven's Garden, I was amazed and totally honoured!

To cut a long story short, I bought out the Original Owner at the end of 2006 after she decided to move onto a different area of Doll making. Simply Reborn online Classes have gone from strength to strength over the past years, and with the unconditional support of my New Business Partner Claire Hughes from Droplets of Love. Together we have a shared vision, we are extremely dedicated and can see the full potential of the classes finally unfolding. We now run a very successful ecommerce business selling Doll Making supplies, our own range of vinyl doll kits called *Ruby Hues* and we run the online lessons and LIVE Classes with the support of a fantastic team of Tutors. We are always looking for the 'gaps' in the market and endeavour to cater for Artists and collectors alike. In the next 24 months we are planning Europe's biggest Doll Festival, so please pop back for updates!

a In March 2004 I formed Europe's first Reborn Guild along with Maggie from Feary Bred Babies, we then invited 3 very dedicated Artists who came together to form Europe's FIRST Artistry Guild for Reborns. GERBA was born!  Precious~Dreams & Tinkerbell Nursery are the only 2 Original GERBA members still in the Reborn Industry.  We remain very good friends and still share a passion for these special Reborn Babies.

It was a true honour for me to be asked to become the Reborn Expert for UK's Number 1 Doll Magazine Discover Dolls. I also had the first Reborn Cover Baby for the Magazine.

IDEX is one of the Worlds Largest doll shows so it was a real pleasure to be invited onto the panel of 4 judges to decide the winners of the IDEX Reborn Contest 2007. Las Vegas, USA.

As well as my Husband, Billy and I, the panel also included Andre and Nicole from Nikki Creations.

a In 2005 I started to sculpt using Polymer clay, this for me was like going back to my roots as I used to sculpt in wet clay. Using polymer clay is so

After popular request I have decided to sculpt a Monkey to be made into a vinyl kit, The New edition will be sold exclusively by Simply Reborn Limited and will be available in early 2009. different to wet clay, but with some perseverance and some great support from fellow artists I soon got to grips with the different techniques used. At first I sculpted Primate babies, funny little monkey babies. To my utter surprise they were a huge hit. My Monkey babies travelled to their new homes all over the world and have bought much enjoyment to many new families.

a I still love to sculpt, but have moved from Primates to Preemie babies, I have had quite a break from sculpting, but have recently returned to the clay as this is my ultimate passion. I have a true love for the tiny preemie babies and the miracle of life that they possess. These tiny fragile, but very resilient babies always bring a mixed view and very often release emotions buried deep inside of us, that we never knew really existed.

One such case was a portrait sculpt I made for a family who's baby had grown his Angel wings at just 28 weeks gestation, he had fought for 4 weeks, but could not fight any longer. The grandparent of the tiny baby contacted me and told me their story of how this little baby had effected their lives, and how they missed him so much that the entire family were no  longer talking. I set about sculpting a memorial baby for the family, and when he arrived, the entire family gathered to hold the new baby, just being able to hold those memories in their arms and cry tears which had been hidden away bought the family back together.

Of course, not all my Preemie babies are used by a grieving family, I have learnt these are very rare cases, and are very touching. Many are displayed as a reminder of how fragile life is, whilst others are a celebration of life. But mostly, because my Preemie babies are sculpted to scale, people like to remember that we were all that size once, Life really is a Miracle in the Making.

In 2009 Ruby Hues released a Scale 34 week Preemie kit in Vinyl called 'Baby Ruthie' she was a very successful kit and it has been a real pleasure seeing Artists reborn this kit with their own individual interpretation.

Many of my Babies have been bought by the Bohemian Doll Museum in the Czech Republic and are now on Display for the public to see my work.

a Thank you so much for stopping by and reading a little about my Artistry, I hope you enjoyed browsing my site and please do remember to come back and visit again.
